Diagnosis Confirmed
Posted by: Audrey Post date: January 15th, 2009I ended up going to the podiatrist this afternoon to get my foot looked at. She had me walk up and down a few times, and said “do you ever have problems with your knees?”. I guess you can’t hide anything from those who know what they’re talking about.
Anyway, it is plantar fasciitis, but she’s hopeful of a reasonably quick recovery since it was an acute event rather than a slow overuse type injury. I’m to continue rolling it, anti inflammatories and ice, but I had acupuncture, and it’s now taped. Those tiny needles really hurt! Short slow run tomorrow and just play it by ear. Fingers crossed – I was looking at the Intraining website for info on PF, and they’ve got a twilight half marathon in early April around the city centre. Sounds so nice! I told the pod I had to be better for that!
We went to the Gallery of Modern Art last weekend. It’s always amazing to see what some people consider to be art. I guess I’m really more talented than I thought. My favourite piece was a giant woman in a bed, her head alone was half the size of my body! Very disconcerting.
Miss 9 (yep, she did survive until her 9th birthday, but only just!) has become really enthused about digital scrapbooking.
We’ve alway
s been fond of scrapbooking, but I got tired of cleaning up little pieces of coloured paper. This digital stuff is really neat! She’s quite a creative soul – this is a page she did on her friend’s cat.
Other than that, not a lot happening. We’ll start schoolwork next week, that gives us a week’s head start and means we can have a “mental health” day here and there.
I’ve reverted back to my old blog theme. Until I can get some sort of a decent header made, the others look very ordinary. I do prefer how easy they are to configure, but I’m not really good at making headers, and I need better pictures of the dogs.

Make sure you stay on top of the PF and don’t overdo it!
